Version 2.8 (January 2010), with a new
chromaticity diagram (What's
new?)
PatchTool
is designed to visualize, manipulate, re-order,
average,
compare
(with
statistics),
convert, and export
color lists in a
color-managed environment. You can
export a list as an image, in plain text format, or in a CGATS compatible
file format; you can also export lists as color catalogues
to be used within the BabelColor CT&A
program.
With its Gamut Tools
you can
convert colors using one or two ICC profiles, check if a color list
will be clipped by a profile conversion, determine the
gamut volume of a
profile, and generate fixed pitch
color lists.
Its Display Check tool
enables you to measure your display characteristics using a built-in set of
patches, or the patches from any opened color list. Supports the
Datacolor
Spyder2TM
and Spyder3TM, the MonacoOPTIXTM
(X-Rite)
DTP94,
and the GretagMacbeth (X-Rite) Eye-OneTM
Pro and
Eye-One Display.
PatchTool
Review: PatchTool was tested by Miles Hecker (WyoFOTO)
whose review was referred in The Luminous Landscape's "What's
New" section.
BabelColor Color Translator and Analyzer (CT&A)
- Version 2.8.6 (May 2009),
with the capability to measure a photographic
flash output (What's
new?)
BabelColor CT&A lets you compare, translate,
convert, and analyze color samples from any RGB space, from the British
Standard 5252, FED-STD-595B,
Munsell, and RAL
CLASSIC color catalogues (Color Decks), and from user-defined color catalogues. Input data directly with any
Eye-OneTM
instrument. When connected to an Eye-One Pro, you get a powerful ambient
illumination analyzer tool, a full featured densitometer, and many other
spectral tools.
Add your own color list as a Color Deck using the "BabelColor
CT&A Export" dialog of the PatchTool program,
which converts color lists saved in CGATS, CXF or plain text format to the
Color Decks database format.
