The PatchTool Display Check tool is designed to make display measurements from any color list opened in PatchTool (PatchTool file menu) or from preset patches (Quick-Test menu). A Quick-Test consists of patches defining a Neutral ramp with or without ramps for the R, G, and B primaries. As Source and Destination profiles, you can select either a built-in PatchTool RGB-space or any ICC display profile. The measured values are presented against the reference values in a Compare window, which includes a "Stats" tab where you can perform a statistical analysis on the differences for any color parameter. When selecting a Quick-Test, an additional "Display data" tab will appear in the Compare window, and when a Quick-Test with Neutral and RGB ramps are measured, you will also see a chromaticity diagram in the "xy graph" tab. An illustrated step-by-step presentation on how to use PatchTool to measure and check your monitor's colorimetric accuracy according to IDEAlliance monitor proofing certification requirements can be downloaded from the Tutorials' page. Please consult Appendix B of PatchTool's Help file, downloaded from this page, for a detailed description of how color management is handled within PatchTool. The following instruments are supported:
